Mary E. (Fretz) Lauder, 90, passed away Thursday evening, March 17, 2022, at Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA. She and her husband, William H. Lauder, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on November 29th of last year. Prior to moving to Meadowood 15 years ago, they had resided in Lower Gwynedd, PA and Ambler, PA.
Born January 24, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Woolston) Fretz. She was a graduate of Cheltenham High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Temple University. At Temple, she was a member of the marching band and was named Miss Diamond Band. She was also a member of the sorority Alpha Sigma.
Mrs. Lauder was a long-time member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Maple Glen, PA, where she served on the altar guild for many years. Her hobbies included tennis and gardening. She cherished time with her family and enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Karen L. Coyle and her husband, Brian, of Clonmel, Ireland, Alan Howard Lauder and his wife, Gwyn, of Malvern, PA, and Linda A. Lauder of York, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Connor, Christopher, Michelle, Casey, Paige and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Fretz.
