In 1972, Al was sworn in as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Over a career of 23 years, he was stationed in Charlotte, NC, New York, NY, and Lansdale, PA. The majority of his casework was in the areas of organized crime, racketeering, and narcotics.
Following his retirement from the F.B.I., Al became an assistant professor at DeSales University, where he taught primarily criminal justice courses for over 15 years.
Along with his wife Susann, Al took the greatest pride in their four sons: Greg Sproule and his wife Jodi, of Barto, PA; John Sproule and his wife Nicole, and their children Emily and Aaron, of Peru, NY; Mark Sproule and his wife Lauren, and their children, Connor, Olivia, and Isla, of Hatfield, PA; and Andrew Sproule of Manayunk, PA.
