Obituary of Lawrence E. Nuss

Lawrence E. Nuss, 92, a former resident of Harleysville, PA, for almost 50 years, passed away early Friday morning, January 14, 2022, at Grand View Hospital in West Rockhill Township, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice (Roberts) Nuss, who passed away August 13th, 2020. They had been married since 1954.

Born October 6, 1929, in Norristown, PA, he was a son of the late Milton R. and Blanche E. (Fryer) Nuss. He was a 1948 graduate of Norristown High School and served in the National Guard for eight years.

Mr. Nuss was employed as an automotive technician for over 25 years with Chevrolet dealerships. He later worked for Skip’s Garage in Skippack, PA until then retirement. He then worked part-time for Yocum Ford in Lansdale, PA.

A member of Trinity Christian United Church of Christ in Skippack, PA, he had formerly been a member of Christ Reformed Church in Norristown, PA. He was a former chief of the Skippack Fire Company, serving as engineer for 17 years. He was a member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed model railroading.

Surviving is a daughter, Linda L. Mayhew and her husband, Jeffrey, of Telford, PA; and two brothers, Milton L. Nuss and his wife, Barbara, of Skippack, PA, and Donald J. Nuss and his wife, Barbara, of Bechtelsville, PA. He is also survived by two step grandchildren, Kyle and his wife, Anna, and their children Bailey, Liam, Rowan, Colton and Harper; and Ashley and her husband, Tyler, and their children Wyatt and Sawyer; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle (Nuss) Hart, and her husband, Horrocks.
