Obituary of Eva Hicks
Muriel “Eva” (Evans) Hicks, 80, of Collegeville, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville. She was the beloved wife of Harry Hicks to whom she was married for over 60 years.
Born June 24, 1941, in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Raymond James and Gladys (Teets) Evans.
In her earlier years, Muriel worked at the Bell Telephone and worked for a time for Sacks Van Service. Muriel attended Collegeville High School and also attended Montgomery County Community College. She went on to work for Weight Watchers as a motivational speaker for 35 years and had been currently employed. Eva enjoyed her family, the beach, and being involved with the community. She was actively involved with Graterford Bible Fellowship Church in Graterford in their children’s and lady’s ministry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Harry Robert Hicks, Jr, and his wife, Lisa, of Boyertown, Tamera Lawrence and her husband, John, of Gilbertsville, Raymond Hicks and his wife, Maria, of Texas, and Jonathan Hicks of Collegeville; her siblings, Janet Martinelli, Gerald Evans and Gladys Miller; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael M Hicks; and her brother James Evans.
Muriel lived in faith with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “For it has been through grace ye have been saved through faith and not that of yourself, it is a gift of God should anyone boast.” Ephesians 2: 8-9. She was called home by her father, and she will live in our hearts forever until we meet again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 11, at the R.L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike, Skippack, PA 19474, where friends may call for the viewing from 9-11 AM. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to “The Pregnancy Resource Line of North Penn.” Masks are encouraged at services.
