Donna Stockett

Obituary of Donna Stockett

Donna (Cook) Stockett, 78, a resident of Blue Bell for over 50 years, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife to Jay Stockett to whom she was married for over 56 years.

Born April 17, 1943, in Elizabeth, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Cook.  She was raised in Chatham, NJ, and attended Penn Hall College before transferring to Penn State University where she met Jay.   Jay and Donna began their married life in Huntsville, Alabama.  Donna began working as an illustrator for a Huntsville newspaper and later turned her passion for art and design into a home décor business.

Creativity showed up in every aspect of Donna’s life including sewing, crochet, painting, drawing, and knitting. She was adventurous and fun, never wanting to miss out on an opportunity to celebrate holidays, birthdays, or celebrations.  She enjoyed travel, food, and a good cup of coffee with dear friends.  Above all, she loved her family dearly and cherished time with her grandchildren either at home or as a cheering grandparent at one of their events.  Upon retirement, Donna took up golf so she and Jay could spend time together.  In return, Jay helped her realize a lifelong dream of travel, European river cruises, and visiting Italy with all of its beauty, culinary, and arts.

Donna is survived by her husband Jay and her children, Kristin Stockett Hamersky and her husband, Robert, of Ambler, PA; Adam Jay Stockett and his wife, Eri, of Philadelphia, PA; Kara Stockett Quinn and her husband, Mark F. Quinn III, of Radnor, PA; her sister Jo-Ann Cook and her wife, Anita Goodwin of Rockport, ME and niece Olivia Goodwin-Cook; and six adoring grandchildren: Maura, Kelsey, and Trevor Quinn; Brynn and Blake Hamersky; and Arisa Stockett.
