Obituary of Wilson Dickey, Jr.
Wilson “Skip” Dickey, Jr, 81, of Skippack, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at Peter Becker Community. He was the dearly beloved husband of Rita (Faini) Dickey to whom he was married for 61 years.
Born January 24, 1940, in Shamokin, PA, he was a son of the late Wilson, Sr., and Marion (Derrick) Dickey. Skip served his country in the United States Navy.
He was the owner of Skip’s Garage in Skippack for over 45 years. Skip was the dealer-owner of the former Mobil located at the corner of Routes 113 & 73 for over 20 years. He was a life-member of the Skippack Fire Company and Skippack Ambulance. Skip was a long-time member of the Skippack Historical Society. He was a member for 70 years at Trinity U.C.C. Church, Skippack.
Volunteering and giving back to others was always a large part of his life. Also, he had an appreciation for the outdoors, horses, fishing, cars, and antiques. Skip really looked forward to vacations with the kids, but, even more so with Rita.
Skip's greatest pride and joy was his family. He wholeheartedly enjoyed every visit and family gathering, evidenced by his perpetual smile. Skip was a deeply devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. His kind, humble and light-hearted ways will always be etched on the hearts of all of his loved ones.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Dickey of Skippack, Steven Dickey and his wife, Paula, of Schwenksville, Karin Smith and her husband, Keven of Pennsburg, and Lisa Spence and her husband, Kenneth, of East Greenville; his siblings, Glenn Dickey and Gary Dickey; and his seven grandchildren, Shawn, Jenna, Summer, Camryn, Andi, Madison, and Morgan.
He was predeceased by his brother, Craig Dickey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Saturday, December 11th at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 3440 Skippack Pike, Skippack PA. Friends may greet the family on Friday, December 10 from 5:00-7:00 PM and again on December 11 from 10-11 AM.
