Bradford Douglas Houchins, Sr., 74, of Maple Glen, PA, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 17, 2021 at Abington Hospital, in Abington, PA.
Born July 12, 1947 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Marvin and Violet (Taylor) Houchins. Mr. Houchins was a graduate of Abington High School, and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
Bradford Douglas Houchins, Sr. was the proud father of four loving sons. During Brad’s early twenties, he established Brad’s Auto Body in 1972, located in Glenside, PA. Brad spent most of his time managing his auto body business before later expanding into towing and real estate. Outside of spending time with his children and grandchildren, Brad had many interests including cars, competitive shooting, golf, skiing, and summers by his pool.
He is survived by his children, Bradford Houchins, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of Telford, Christopher Houchins of Ambler, Andrew Houchins and his wife, Sarah, of North Wales, and Tyler Houchins of Philadelphia; his sister, Donna Burns; his grandchildren, Molly, Bradford III and Cassidy; and his former wife, Eleni Skianis. His love for them will be everlasting in their hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 610 Church Rd, Flourtown, PA 19031. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
