Marjorie Carpenter, 97, formerly of Fort Washington, PA, passed away early Saturday morning, April 17, 2021, at Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA. She had resided at Meadowood for the last 16 years.
Born January 22, 1924, in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Hamilton Disston Carpenter and Florence (Mahoney) Carpenter. She was a graduate of The Agnes Irwin School of Bryn Mawr, PA, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She was a pilot and was a flight instructor in Hawaii many years ago.
Mrs. Carpenter was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was a member of The Philadelphia Cricket Club and her hobbies included travel, photography and playing Bridge.
Surviving are two nephews, Michael and Peter Odell, both of Denver, CO.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sydnie Odell.
Services will be private and interment will take place in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. Arrangements are by the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. of Skippack, PA.
