Obituary of Mary Barbara Rothenberger
Mary Barbara (Doyle) Rothenberger, 75, a resident of Worcester Township, PA for over 44 years, passed away on Friday morning, March 12, 2021, at Temple University Hospital, after a brief illness. She and her husband, Kim A. Rothenberger, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26th of this year.
Born September 4, 1945, in Harrisburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Michael, Jr. and Elizabeth (Kelly) Doyle. She was a graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School in West Chester, PA, and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from West Chester University. She taught in both the West Chester and Methacton School Districts.
Mrs. Rothenberger was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She had many hobbies including sewing, golf, bowling, playing cards, and traveling. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing and playing the piano, but her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Kim A. Rothenberger, Jr. and his wife, Kimberlee, and their children, Jameson, Chynnalyn and Kim III, of Lederach, PA; Andrew M. Rothenberger and his wife, Erika, and their children, Drew and Adelyn, of Harleysville, PA; Richard A. Rothenberger and his wife, Gina, and their children, Ryan, Ella and Alex, of Harleysville, PA; and Lori A. Lockhoff and her husband, Richard, and their children, Lucas, Benjamin and Elizabeth, of Lansdale, PA. She is also survived by three siblings, Elizabeth Cassidy, wife of the late James Cassidy, of West Chester, PA; Margaret Jones and her husband, Ronald, of Unionville, PA, and Michael Doyle, III and his wife, Michelle, of West Chester, PA.
Family will receive friends from 9-9:45am on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. The casket will be closed. The public funeral mass will begin at 10am at the church. Burial will be private for the immediate family at Garden of Memories behind Central Schwenkfelder Church in Worcester, PA.
