Obituary of Varah Jean (Wheeler) Laverty
Varah Jean (Wheeler) Laverty, 37, of Upper Pottsgrove Township, PA, formerly of Skippack, PA and Collegeville, PA, said good-bye to this world on Friday, March 12, 2021, after a four year battle with Brain Cancer. She and her husband, Kyle Andrew Laverty, would have celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary on June 18th of this year. They were married at Moon Dancer Winery in 2011.
Varah was a strong, very independent woman who overcame so many hurdles in her life. At the age of 18, she lost her mother, Barbara Jean “Dedee” (Aiken) Wheeler, to Uterine Cancer, and at the age of 20, she lost her father, Willis Vance Wheeler, Jr., to Lung Cancer.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind so many loved ones including her sister, Dee Ann (Wheeler) Smith; her brother, Willis Vance Wheeler, III; and all of the Aiken family of Skippack, PA. Varah would want a special thanks to go out to Emily Louise (Aiken) Manning and Thomas James Manning, Sr., for stepping up as her second parents in her biggest time of need.
Varah was a 2001 graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School and earned an associate degree from Alvernia University. She held employment with Almac Clinical Services, an Ireland based pharmaceuticals company, for almost 20 years, and she loved her job.
Varah loved the outdoors and music with friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were drinking her wine and playing music for her flowers and plants in her greenhouse, kayaking with friends and family, and going to those hippy music festivals to feel the vibes and hear the music. Along Varah’s journey in this world, she touched many people with her smile, her voice and her out-spoken positive vibes. “Varah Jean, you will not be forgotten…”
The family will receive friends for her visitation from 10am-12 noon on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Cornerstone Church of Skippack, 1326 Stump Hall Road, Skippack, PA. The public memorial service will begin at 12:30pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a letter about your favorite experiences with Varah or donations to Kyle Laverty, 144 Maugers Mill Road, Pottstown, PA 19464. All funds will be used to construct a memorial garden located on the property for Varah’s ashes, and all letters written to her will be put in a time capsule to be closed at 7pm on June 18, 2021, for their ten-year wedding anniversary. A party will follow. Please bring tents and stories to share. All are welcome. Arrangements are by R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. of Skippack, PA.
