Marie M. (Martino) Pirrall Fargo, 93, a former long time resident of Schwenksville, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown, after a long struggle with progressing dementia. She was the beloved wife of  Robert W. Pirrall for 40 years until his death in 1989.  She married Donald Fargo in 1995 and they lived lovingly together until his death in 2018.

Born May 14, 1927, in Doylestown, she was a daughter of the late James and Miriam (Knowles) Martino.

She was a 1945 graduate of A.D Eisenhower High School, Norristown. While there, she participated in basketball, swim team, and field hockey.  She even helped take the field hockey team to a victory in the state championship.  She then attended the Rhode Island School of Design where she received her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree.  After graduating she worked for PECO in their Philadelphia office all the while honing her artistic skills in sculpture and painting.  After moving to Schwenksville, she became a member of the Perkiomen Valley Art League where she served a term as president and gave art lessons in her home studio while raising her children.  She enjoyed spending summers at the family vacation home in Avalon, NJ, going to the beach, boating, shopping, and walking the boardwalk.  She also enjoyed traveling stateside in a motorhome and later abroad including visiting her son Craig in Japan.  She was a woman of faith and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Norristown. She had a friendly smile and a gracious manner and had no trouble striking up a conversation with anyone, even perfect strangers.

She loved her family dearly and is survived by her sons, Robert E. Pirrall and his wife, Lou Ann, of Schwenksville, and Craig Pirrall and his wife, Hitomi, of Nara, Japan; and her six grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Michael, Hana, Noah, and Ian.
