Ronald P. McMenamin passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 2021 at the age of 77. Ron was born June 22, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA. He was a son of the late Edward Bender and Bertha (Ginder) McMenamin. He was a graduate of John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA. It was with a tremendous sense of pride that he served in the Marine Corps for the country that he loved so well.
Ron’s circle of love was broad and varied. He is survived by the light of his life, his wife Carol. He is also survived by his children Dawn (Tony) Bargallo, Bonnie (Steven) Sciortino, David (Tiffany) McMenamin, Heather (Nate) Butler, Robin (Jerry) Morris, Jill (Tim) Herman and Fred (Lisa) Hofstetter. RonPop, his own unique name for a unique grandfather, relished his special place in the hearts of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His presence lives on within his nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends and acquaintances. And Ron now joins his sisters Dolly and Jackie in memory and whom he adored.
He brought laughter and hugs to their lives as well as to so many others. The sounds of Elvis’ voice booming from speakers, or the ripples from a deck of cards being shuffled will always evoke memories of his zest for life. Some are born with a special ability for play and Ron could bring it in abundance. Somehow, he got away with mischief by the flash of his smile and the lift of his brow.
Flavor and color is what he brought to the table, both with his exceptional abilities in the kitchen and in the way he approached life. At work and play, during sickness and health, through good times and bad, he enriched lives. By adding a handful of spice, a bit of heat and a generous helping of sweet, he created a legacy that lives on in those whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, January 23 from 10-11 am at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack, PA.
