Doris J. Plager, 80, of Worcester, PA, passed away at Meadowood Senior Living on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She and her husband, David Plager, observed their 32nd wedding anniversary on July 16th of this year.
Born February 16, 1940, in Yeadon, PA, she was a daughter of the late Richard Henry Burfield and Olga Grace (Cole) Burfield. She was a graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and Philadelphia College of Textiles & Sciences. She was employed for many years as a school nurse.
Mrs. Plager was a member of Central Schwenkfelder Church in Worcester, PA, and enjoyed volunteering at Meadowood.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert D. Bradley and his wife, Tricia, of Cary, NC; a stepdaughter, Robin Lapre and her husband, Michael, of Franklin, TN; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. Douglas Bradley, in 1983; and by her son, David G. Bradley, in 1998.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, a private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Garden of Memories in Worcester, PA. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the David Bradley Children’s Bereavement Program at Penn Medicine, 3535 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19104.
