Obituary of Charles Thomas Rogers, III

Charles Thomas Rogers III, 86, of Worcester, PA, passed away from cardiac arrest on Dec 18, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (O’Donnell) Rogers.

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was a son of the late artists Richard Anders Rogers and Mary Hunter Bean Rogers, both formerly of Sumneytown, PA.   He was predeceased in 2001 by a brother, Lt. Col. Lane Rogers USMC Ret.

Charles grew up in Sumneytown attending the local Sumneytown School and The Hill School in Pottstown, PA.  He set off to see the USA shortly after graduation and settled in Los Angeles, CA, where he married and set about helping raise six children.  He brought his young family back to live in PA in 1968 and settled in Worcester, PA, where he lived the rest of his life.  He worked for Merck and Co., Inc. in West Point, PA, for 31 years, holding a variety of positions in their Mfg. Division before retiring.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Elizabeth Rogers Palser of Los Angeles, CA, Richard Rogers (Liberty) of Katy, TX, Thomas Rogers (Elisa) of Ormond Beach, FL, William Rogers (Deb) of Lansdale, PA, and Mary Rogers Muncy (Shannon) of Greensboro, NC; stepson, Nicholas Feuchtmayer Jr. of Lansdale, PA; and his former wife, Mrs. Dianne Matulis of Boynton Beach, FL; ten grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Rogers, formerly of Simi Valley, CA.
