Alfonso Michael Raimondo, 83, formerly of Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Audubon, PA, passed away late Monday night, December 21, 2020, at Sunrise of Blue Bell, PA.
Born September 6, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, he grew up in Drexel Hill, PA, and was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Console) Raimondo. He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Drexel University. He was also a U. S. Air Force veteran.
Mr. Raimondo was a computer programmer with UNIVAC and Smith Kline. He was of the catholic faith and was a member of Toastmasters International. He was an avid football fan and he enjoyed spending time on the beach in Ocean City, NJ, and working around his house.
Surviving is his daughter, Jennifer M. Drakely and her husband, Frank, of Skippack, PA; and two sons, Michael C. Raimondo of Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Christopher G. Raimondo of Lafayette Hill, PA. He is also survived by two grandsons, Frankie Drakely of Royersford, PA, and Nicholas Drakely of Skippack, PA; and his sister, Madelyn Kaielen of Dunedin, FL.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Volpe, in 2002.
In light of restrictions on public gatherings, a private service and burial with military honors will take place for the family at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
