Obituary of Winifred Reiff (Landis) Faust

Winifred Reiff (Landes) Faust, 94, a resident of Worcester Township, PA, for the last 70 years, passed away at home early Thursday morning, December 17, 2020. She was the wife of the late Carl H. Faust who passed away in 1994.


Born July 8, 1926, in Cedars, PA, she was a daughter of the late A. Lincoln and Anna (Reiff) Landes. She was a 1944 graduate of the former Lansdale High School. She had been employed by Philadelphia Electric Company.


Mrs. Faust was a faithful member of Wentz’s U.C.C. Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for 20 years, and on Women’s Guild for over 65 years. She also formerly chaired the Christmas Bazaar and was active with Christian Education Committee, Consistory, and Companions. Outside of church, she was active with Girl Scouts of USA as a Brownie and Junior troop leader. She was also active with the Worcester Fund, serving as chairwoman 1996-1998. She was a member of the Carriage Association of America from 1964-2010, and with the American Driving Society from 1970-1994.


Mrs. Faust was co-designer and builder of Hickory Ford Farm, a work in progress! She was a devoted caregiver for several family members. She was also a strong supporter of equine activities such as horseback riding, carriage drives, and carriage restoration. One of her favorite quotes was, “I never held the reins, but I got where I wanted to go! Walk on…”


Surviving is her daughter, Donna Faust Patterson and her husband, Joseph M. Patterson, III, of Hickory Ford Farm, Worcester, PA; four grandchildren: Carlyn, Sara, Catharine and Joseph IV; four great grandchildren: Kevin, Isabelle, Lincoln and Remy Winifred; 12 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.


In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Lorraine R., Burton R. and Ronald R. Landes.


In light of restrictions on public gatherings, a private graveside service will take place at Wentz’s U.C.C. Cemetery. A public memorial service will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Manna on Main Street, 606 E. Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446, or to Abington Jefferson Hospice C/O Abington Health Foundation: Arrangements are by the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. of Skippack, PA.
