Joseph Jorna, 89, formerly of Skippack, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at his residence in Glendale, Arizona. He was the beloved husband of Flora (Reger) Jorna.
Born July 26, 1930, in Mt. Airy, he was a son of the late John and Ruth (West) Jorna.
Joe worked for years at the Allen Wood Steel Company as a machinist before retiring to Arizona with his wife. In his free time, Joe loved to lend a hand wherever it was needed. From being an active member of the Lions club, helping establish the Skippack Swim Club, setting up and tearing down the Philadelphia Folk Festival to leading BINGO night at the local firehouse, Joe was ingrained in his community. Joe loved to chat and took an interest in how you were doing and what was going on in your life, whether you were family, friend, or neighbor. He enjoyed being Mr. Fix-it, anything to do with history, and playing trivia games with his family.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his son, Jeffery Jorna of Glendale, daughter-in-law, Sheryl (Thompson) Jorna of Worcester, grandchildren Melissa Jorna of Phoenix, Timothy Jorna and wife Rebecca Avery of Skippack, Dana Jorna of Worcester, and Christian Jorna of Audubon; and his great-grandson, Clifford Jorna also of Skippack.
Joe was predeceased by his son, Daniel Jorna in 2019, and his brother, Thomas Jorna.
