Edith Rose (Buonacorsi) Alfano, 90, formerly of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away on May 20, 2020 in Sellersville, PA. She was the beloved wife of John Charles Alfano who predeceased her. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Maria (DiMeglio) Buonacorsi.
In addition to her husband, Edith was predeceased by her son, Jack Alfano (wife Kathleen), and is survived by her daughters Karen Maglaty (husband Joseph) of Lansdale, PA and Holly Perlick (husband Scott) of Mason Neck, VA. She was a cherished grandmother to Jonathan Maglaty of South Lebanon, OH and Marisa Maglaty (husband Eric Weber) of Woodland, CA. Edith’s brother Joseph Buonacorsi and sister Alice Alfano pre-deceased her. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
As a native of the Ocean State, Edith, known as Edie, found solace around water. Boating, sitting on the beach or just viewing the water from a restaurant or car, made her content.
Edie had a great appreciation for the arts. She had a terrific sense of style and color. She enjoyed visiting museums, going to the theatre, painting, and at a young age, learned to play piano by ear.
Edie loved family gatherings and hosted many wonderful holidays serving her delicious homemade meals at a beautiful table. A great conversationalist, she always tried to make everyone around her feel recognized, appreciated, and loved. Her life was devoted to caring for her family and bringing them happiness and enjoyment. She will be remembered, loved always, and forever be in our hearts.
In light of the current pandemic and restrictions on gatherings, interment will be private, and a public memorial mass for Edith will be scheduled at a later date.
