Sharon (Zaleski) Glodek, 66, formerly of Worcester, PA, ended her fight with cancer in her home in Skippack, PA, on Tuesday morning, March 24, 2020. She and her husband, Walter S. Glodek, celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on August 13th of last year.
Born March 15, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Francis I. and Regina (Kowalewski) Zaleski, and was a 1972 graduate of Cecilian Academy. She later earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Chestnut Hill College in Education. She was a teacher in the Philadelphia School District for 17 years and then served as a principal for another 13 years until retirement in 2017.
Sharon loved being active. Her hobbies included traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and indulging in retail therapy.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jill Zawislak Ayres and her son, Kevin Ayres, of Collegeville, PA; a stepdaughter, Jennifer (Glodek) Zavertnik and her husband, Michael, and their sons, Caleb and Eli, of Evansburg, PA; and a stepson, Todd Glodek and his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Greyson and daughter, Saylor, of Delran, NJ. She is also survived by three sisters, Kathleen Z. Ey and her husband, William, and their children, Regina and Victoria; her twin sister, Karen Z. Roach and her husband, Dr. Michael, and their children, Brian (Gabrielle), Rebecca, Andrew (Nicole), Meghan Strazzulla (Dominic), and Matthew; and her sister, Judy Z. Anderson and her sons, John and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Michael J. Zawislak.
