Richard “Ace” Henry Dobeck, 80, of Schwenksville formerly of Montgomeryville died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Season’s Hospice in Phoenixville. He was the beloved and thoughtful husband of Paula (Bousquet) Dobeck.
Born March 5, 1940 in Bronx, New York he was the son of the late Henry and Carole (Primavera) Dobeck.
Richard attended West Chester Community College before joining the Navy and starting his career as a naval aviator, logging more than 5,000 hours and nearly200 aircraft carrier landings. Later he completed his B.A. at Columbia College in Missouri.
Richard was a devout Catholic who bravely battled several bouts of cancer for nearly two decades. He continued to fight no matter the obstacle and never complained. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family talking and laughing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Eryn Jelesiewicz and her husband, Ted; Maria Rossman; Sean Dobeck and his wife, Kristine; and Anthony Dobeck; his grandchildren Katharine Rossman, Arianna Dobeck, and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Fioretti and her husband Robert, with whom he was very close,
A viewing and funeral mass will be held for the family. Burial will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. The family is planning a life celebration at a later date.
