Obituary of Jane Altemose

 

Carol “Jane” (Rittenhouse) Altemose, 80, passed away January 28, 2020, peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was a loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched.

Born November 22, 1939, in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Virginia (Todd) Rittenhouse and R. Harold Rittenhouse.

Jane graduated from Norristown Area High School. She went on to Allentown Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing Degree. She started her 50 plus year nursing career as an Emergency Room Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown, PA and continued on to become a Home Health Care Nurse until her retirement in January 2016 at the young age of 76.

Jane was a devoted caregiver who dedicated her life to helping others. She was always assisting and caring for friends and neighbors in her spare time. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, knitting, decorating, lunches with friends and was an avid reader, and loved animals. In her retirement, she resumed her love of gardening and landscaping. 

She was the beloved mother of Krista Altemose, Karen Sprenkle, and her husband, Richard, Gregory Altemose, and his wife, Michelle, Jennifer Altemose-Juliano, and her husband, Patrick.  She was also a proud and loving grandmother of Stephanie (Sprenkle) Boyer, and her husband Steven, Quentin Altemose, Jared Sprenkle, David Altemose, Gregory Altemose, and Matthew Altemose.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter Sara Jane Sprenkle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd. Skippack, where friends may greet the family from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, 19 E. Ridge Pike, PO Box 222, Conshohocken, PA 19428-0222 or the Kevin Cain Memorial Foundation, P.O.
