Obituary of Marianne G. Evans

Marianne G. (Kragh) Evans, 73, of Harleysville, PA, passed away after an illness on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Abington Lansdale Hospital. She and her husband, Gerald C. Evans, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on March 14th of last year.

 

Born October 10, 1946, in Hillerod, Denmark, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Gudrun (Larsen) Kragh. She received her bachelor’s degree in Brussels and attended culinary school. She was employed as a social worker and eventually moved to the United States in 1980. She then worked as a social worker at Variety – the Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley, in Worcester, PA. She also drove bus for S.T.S. for over 18 years.

 

Mrs. Evans attended Graterford Bible Fellowship Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, dining and watching Western movies. Her greatest love was her family, especially the grandkids.          

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Clint J. Evans and Paige J. Hammond; and she was “Nana” to Faith, Hope, Joy, Michael, Re’Elle and Bryleigh.

 

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Hannah, Leonard, and Maj-Lis.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 12:30pm on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, PA, where friends may call for the viewing from 11am until 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Graterford Bible Fellowship Church, 693 Church Road, Graterford, PA 19426.
