John W. Kratz, 79, of Zieglerville, PA, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019. He and his wife, Elaine M. (Huber) Kratz, observed their 59th wedding anniversary on November 12th of this year.
Born June 24, 1940, in Skippack, PA, he was a son of the late Oscar Kratz, Sr. and Mary (Brendlinger) Kratz. He was a graduate of Schwenksville High School, Class of 1958.
Mr. Kratz was employed for almost 25 years with B. F. Goodrich Tire Company. He later worked as a maintenance foreman for the Montgomery County Park System until retirement.
Mr. Kratz was a member of the Pikeville Gun Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed taking his 1950 Ford to car shows. His hobbies included league bowling and building birdhouses.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Christine Desimone and her husband, Jeff, of Gilbertsville, PA, and Joann Davis and her husband, Lee, of Reading, PA; a brother, Oscar Kratz, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Collegeville, PA; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Leeson of Douglassville, PA, and Richard Huber and his wife, Jane, of Magnolia, DE. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Amber and Logan Davis.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Louise Leeson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11am on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, PA, where family will receive friends from 10-10:45am. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories.
