Obituary of Harry Beideman
Harry R. Beideman, 83, of Telford passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Lutheran Community at Telford. He was the beloved husband of Myrtle (Renninger) to whom he was married for over 29 years.
Born May 21, 1936, in Norristown he was a son of the late Rodney and Dorothy (Stanger), Beideman. Mr. Beideman served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was a long-time member of the Olivet-Schwenkfelder United Church of Christ where he enjoyed singing with the choir. He also enjoyed classic country music, square dancing and western movies. A sports enthusiast, He passionately followed the Philadelphia sports teams and collected a variety of sports memorabilia; traveling to major cities in the U.S. with friends, meeting current and former players and getting their autographs.
Prior to his retirement in 1994, he worked 40 years as a Journeyman Wireman Electrician and was a devoted member of Local Union 380 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
He loved his family, attending and participating in many school and community activities with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hosting holiday dinners, cook-outs, and Easter egg hunts at his home in Harleysville.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, John Robert “Bob” Beideman of Vacaville California, step-daughter Jane M. Dettra of Perkiomenville, Karen Beideman of Oakland Maine, Jeffrey and Illyona (Moody) Beideman of Glenmoore; his grandchildren Jonathan Beideman, Joshua and Ferielle (Khetir) Beideman, and Jessica Beideman; and his great-grandchild Charlotte.
He was predeceased by his sister Helen “Margie” Nyce.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Olivet- Schwenkfelder United Church of Christ, 619 Township Line Rd, East Norriton, PA 19403, where friends may greet the family from 10-10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Lutheran Community at Telford, 12 Lutheran Home Dr. Telford, PA 18969.
