Obituary of Bruce Bernhard Palmer

Bruce Bernhard Palmer, 78, of Gwynedd Valley, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019, at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health, in Abington. He was the beloved husband of Antonia (Wilkins) Palmer to whom he was married for over 52 years.

Born March 6, 1941, in Trenton, NJ, he was a son of the late Stephen T. and Roberta (Comly) Palmer. Mr. Palmer was a graduate of the William Penn Charter School class of 1959 and attended the University of Pittsburgh.

Bruce worked his way up to be an executive for Palmer International, a family business. He managed business around the world and traveled extensively. He was a president and long-time member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the recipient of the Dan Manhannah Achievement award. Bruce enjoyed skiing, golf, tennis, squash and will be remembered for his love of sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, R. Anne Palmer of Gwynedd Valley, and Elizabeth Alexakos and her husband, Philip, of Bedford, NH; his sister Roberta Body and her husband, Howard of Douglassville; and his three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Stephen T. Palmer, Jr., and Wayne L. Palmer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 Am on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the Central Schwenkfelder Church, 2111 Valley Forge Rd. Lansdale, PA 19440, where friends may greet the family from 10-10:45 AM. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Abington Hospital Jefferson Health or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
