Richard Millard Gillen, 85, of Jeffersonville, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at Phoenixville Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lynore T. Ruth (Troxell) Gillen.
Born November 5, 1933, In Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Thomas Joseph and Esther May (Millard) Gillen.
He served four years in the United States Air Force and then attended Temple University majoring in Finance. He started his career with DeHaven & Townsen and retired from the Pitcairn Company. He had a passion for reading, gardening, bird watching, and history. He loved bus trips and traveling to Williamsburg, VA with his wife Lynne. As his family grew, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his children, Roberta “Bobbie” Dewey and her husband, Mark, of Gilbertsville, Lisa Lentz and her husband, Michael, Sr. of Skippack, Karen DeAngelis and her husband, John, of Norristown, Andrew Gillen of Jeffersonville; six Grandchildren and seven Great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother Thomas David Gillen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the R.L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 3440 Skippack Pike, where friends may greet the family from 9-10: 45 AM.
