Obituary of James M. Hinchcliffe

James M. Hinchcliffe, 73, of Pennsburg, PA passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2019.  He was married to his high school sweetheart Doris (Knade) Hinchcliffe, for 53 years.

Born July 13, 1945, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Frank M. Hinchcliffe and Christine (Ludman) Hinchcliffe.  Jim grew up in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia, graduating from Lincoln High School and attending Temple University.  He spent his career in the metals industry, beginning at Edgcomb Steel in Philadelphia, and later at Cressona Aluminum in Cressona, PA.  He valued the many lasting relationships he formed with customers and colleagues alike.

Jim was a dedicated life-long Philadelphia sports fan through every season, winning or losing.  Woodworking and model railroading were among his favorite hobbies.  He designed and built quality pieces of furniture and a train platform that took over the basement.  Jim’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and following all the activities of his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Linda James and her husband, Randy, of Lansdale, PA; a son David Hinchcliffe and his wife, Marcia of Blue Bell; his brother Frank I. Hinchcliffe of Cary, NC; his grandchildren Valerie James, Kirsten James, Diana James, Gavin Hinchcliffe and Benjamin Hinchcliffe.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 3440 Skippack Pike, where friends may greet the family from 9:30-10:45 AM.
