Owen G. Jones, 93, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at Manatawny Manor of Pottstown, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa (Gibbons) Jones, who passed away in 2005. They had formerly lived Lafayette Hill, PA, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Trappe, PA.
Born June 12, 1925, in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late John Paul and Josie (Morris) Jones, and attended Drexel University. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served aboard the Destroyer Escort USS Jarvis #393 in the Pacific Campaign.
Mr. Jones owned a company specializing in architectural and engineering supplies. He retired in 1991. He was an avid golfer and an airplane enthusiast. Above all, he was devoted to his family.
Surviving is a son, Owen Stephen Jones and his wife, Terry, of Friendswood, TX; and two daughters, Virginia L. Williams of Blue Bell, PA, and Ellin M. Jones of Newtown, PA. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Nicole Civello of West Chester, PA, and Dana Santoro and her husband, Luigi, of Lansdale, PA; and two great grandchildren, Maura Collins and Lucca Santora.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John Paul Jones and Mildred Moniot.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at 11AM on Friday, February 22, 2019, at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA, where family will receive friends at 10:30AM. Burial will be private at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. Arrangements are by the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. of Skippack, PA.
