Obituary of Michael Christie
Michael Christie, 59, of Collegeville, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem. He was the beloved husband of Laura (Trusik) Christie.
Born February 24, 1959, in Abington, Pa he was a son of Frances Marie (Mitchell) Christie and the late William Carl Christie. Michael Christie was a graduate of Millersville University earning his bachelors in geology and continued his education earning his masters in hydrogeology from Wright State University. He went on to become one of the founding partners of Penn Environmental and Remediation in Hatfield, Pa.
Mike Christie was a member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church and was a dedicated and selfless family man whose infectious love of life and spirited sense of humor impacted everyone he met. Mike loved the simple things in life and found joy in traveling, fishing, and reading about ancient history. Whether family, work or routine chores, he took pride in a job well done.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Laura Ann Wise and her husband, Grady, of Limerick, and Michael David Christie and his wife, Victoria, of Collegeville; his siblings, Deborah Conklin, William Christie, Jr., Stephen Christie, Maryann Lipp, Dennis Christie, John Christie, Thomas Christie, Richard Christie, Frances Touey, Robert Christie, and Jacob Christie; and his grandchildren, Ella Raine Christie, Reese Christie Wise, and Carson Samuel Christie; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10 Am on Monday, July 2, 2018, at St. Eleanor Catholic Church 647 Locust St, Collegeville, PA 19426. Friends may call for the viewing on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 5-7 PM at the R. L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd. Skippack, PA 19474, and again on Monday, from 9-9:45 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Luke’s Hospice House, 2455 Black River Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
