Obituary of Thomas Beck

Thomas F. Beck, 92, of Harleysville, PA, formerly of South and Northeast Philadelphia, PA, passed away June 26, 2018 at Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen (Welsh) Beck, in 2008.

 

Born November 24, 1925 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Johanna (Dougherty) Beck. After school, he began work in the shipyard welding before joining the military. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the European and American Theaters. In light of his military service at such a young age, he was very proud to receive an honorary diploma from North Penn High School in 2004.

 

Mr. Beck was employed with PECO for over 40 years, retiring in 1987 as a construction supervisor. An avid golfer, he was a member of McCall Field Golf Course. He enjoyed traveling, local site-seeing, and following the Philadelphia Phillies.

 

Surviving are three children, Diane Calesnick and her husband, Jay, of Riverton, NJ, and their children, Jonathan, Stacey and Debbie; Eileen Rowe and her husband, Jim, of Harleysville, and their sons, Jim and his wife, Angela, and their son, James, and Craig and his wife, Holly, and their children, Ridley and Grant; and Thomas Beck of Ardmore, PA, and his sons, Tommy, Shane and Chase, and their mother, Lisa. He is also survived by his significant other of nine years, Charlotte Davis. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jim Beck.

 

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 9:30AM-10:15AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. Friends may also attend the funeral mass which will begin at 10:30AM with burial following at Green Lawn Cemetery in Lansdale.
