Obituary of Robert Capaldi

Robert M. Capaldi, 49, a resident of Schwenksville, PA, formerly of North Wales, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his beloved dogs on May 1st.

Born April 23, 1969 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of Dr. George J. and Louise D. (Eschbach) Capaldi of Schwenksville. He grew up in Gwynedd Valley, PA and graduated from LaSalle High School. He received his associate degree in culinary arts from The Restaurant School of Philadelphia, and worked as a rural mail carrier in Collegeville, PA for the U. S. Postal Service.

Robert was a dedicated husband to his beloved partner of 28 years, Kelly (Pierce) Capaldi. He was exceptionally kind, a helper, a protector. Robert was a friend to animals, generous with his time, movie and music recommendations, his cooking, and most of all, his heart. He was a homebody who loved to travel, a quiet man with a big laugh, a strong, gentle soul. We are lucky to have known him.

In addition to his wife and parents, he will be cherished and remembered by five siblings: Laine M. Fountaine of North Wales, Carla A. McWilliams of Ocean, NJ, John G. Capaldi of Schwenksville, Donna L. Soldano and her husband, Curtis, of Garden Valley, CA, and Carrie B. Capaldi and her husband, George Pugnetti, of Asbury Park, NJ; his nieces and nephews: Christopher and his wife Sabriya, Jaime, Blaise, Sophia, Dylan, Mason, Avery, Ezekiel, Leo, and Rafael; and angels Edward and Noah.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Citizens for No Kill Philadelphia, PO Box 706, Skippack, PA 19474, , or to Aark Wildlife, 1531 Upper Stump Road, Chalfont, PA 18914.
