Obituary of David Lowthert

David R. Lowthert, 78, of East Norriton, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Formerly of Eagleville, PA, he was a resident of Shannondell at Valley Forge since June of last year.

 

Born July 28, 1939 in Pottsville, PA, he was a son of the late David and Ida (Freeze) Lowthert and was a graduate of Pottsville High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, honorably discharged as a first lieutenant. Mr. Lowthert received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi. He received his master’s degree in business administration from Temple University.

 

Mr. Lowthert was employed with Ford in the automobile industry for over 40 years. He was an operation’s representative for the company and retired in 2003 as an investment manager. He later served as a consultant to the company. 

 

Mr. Lowthert was a member of Central Schwenkfelder Church of Worcester, PA. He was also a member of Norristown Lodge #620 F. & A. M. of Norristown, PA, and the Blue Bell Country Club. He loved his family very much and enjoyed a good glass of wine.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Kimberly Luciani and her husband, Lou, of Collegeville, PA, Susan Roth and her husband, Matt, of Newport News, VA, and Amy Jacoby and her husband, Phil, of Collegeville; a sister, Loreen Miller and her husband, Jim, of Orwigsburg, PA; and five grandchildren, Alyssa Luciani, Alyvia Dugan, Nicholas Luciani, Christina Luciani and Aiden Jacoby. He was also survived by his former wife, Patricia (Cunningham) Lowthert.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lowthert.

 

Family will receive friends from 10-11AM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, PA, where the memorial service will begin at 11AM. Interment will be private.
