E. Stephen Finkbiner

E. Stephen Finkbiner, 85, passed away early Saturday morning, September 4, 2021, at Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA. He and his wife, JoAnn (Gyuricsek) Finkbiner, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 12th of this year. Prior to moving to Meadowood three years ago, they had been residents of Lower Providence Township, PA for over 53 years.

 

Born May 8, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Royersford, PA, he was a son of the late Edwin B. and Grace (Mowrey) Finkbiner. He was a 1954 graduate of Royersford High School. Following graduation from Ursinus College, he earned his M.B.A. from Drexel University.

 

Mr. Finkbiner was employed for over 30 years in various financial roles within the oil industry. He retired from Sun Company in Philadelphia, PA in 1992. He was an active member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church of Audubon, PA. He was an accomplished bridge player and his hobbies included genealogy and woodworking. He enjoyed cheering for Penn State Football and Wrestling, faithfully studying the Bible, and quality time with family and friends.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Susan McGlynn and her husband, Paul, of Audubon, PA, and their children, John, Paul, Grace and Christopher; Jacqueline Swanson and her husband, Mark, of Hatfield, PA, and their children, Michael, Katie and Matthew; John Finkbiner and his wife, Maggie, of Downingtown, PA, and their children, Ashley and Ava; and Ann Hoover and her husband, Chris, of Hatfield, PA, and their children, Stephen, Julia and Nicholas.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11am on Friday, September 10, 2021, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Road, Audubon, PA 19403, where family will receive friends from 10-10:45am. Please bring a mask. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Smile Train at www.smiletrain.org, or to the church at the address above.
