Carol Robin McMenamin

Carol Robin (Leiter) McMenamin passed away Saturday morning, February 20, 2021 at the age of 79. Carol was born October 31, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the beloved wife of Ron McMenamin, who passed away earlier this year.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren - Robin Morris, her husband Jerry and their children Tim, Jenn, Jim, Kate and Chris and their families; Jill Herman, her husband Tim and their children, Greg and Julia and her great granddaughter Haley May; and Fred Hofstetter, his wife Lisa and their children, John, Rebecca and Robyn. The daughter of the late Mac and Sarah (Mercer) Leiter, she is also survived by her sisters Judy Corwell, Rosemary Turner, Nancy Ford and Grace VanArtsdalen. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings David Leiter and Olga Chauncey.

Carol grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and was a graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1959.

Beautiful, kind and loving, her life centered around her home and family. It was her universe and one she loved beyond all else. Her home was immaculate, warm and inviting. The tremendous amount of effort that she put into creating that environment was done with the intention of providing those she loved with the sure knowledge that they were cherished. It was a gift that she gave gladly with all of her heart.

Though employed in various careers throughout her life, no job provided as much satisfaction as her role at PJM Interconnection. Hers was the face that greeted fellow employees as well as visitors with kind words and a smile everyday for over 20 years. The high regard in which she was held gave her a great sense of pride.

She loved Americana. Whether it was painting crafts, collecting antiques, exploring country roads with Ron, canning preserves or spending time in a rustic cabin by a fire, she found joy in the simple things. She relished all the moments she spent with her family in Ocean City, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 10 – 11 AM at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack, PA. Please wear a mask and be prepared to practice social distancing. In light of restrictions on public gatherings, the memorial service will be private for the family. Carol had dreamed of volunteering as a “granny” working with babies in hospitals, rocking them and providing them with caring affection. In that spirit, donations in lieu of flowers can be sent in her memory to Project Linus P.O. Box 1548 Belton, MO 64012.
