Raymond A. Wells, 82, a long-time resident of Skippack, PA, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday evening, October 25, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne (Roeschen) Wells, who passed away in 2011.
Born December 13, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Edwin and Minnie Arline (Matthews) Wells.
Mr. Wells was the manager of Rolling Turf Golf Course in Schwenksville, PA, for over 40 years. Prior to Rolling Turf, he was Superintendent and Greenskeeper at Skippack Golf Club. Professionally, he was a member of the GCSAA and PAGCS. In his free time, he was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter and loved spending time in White Deer, PA.
Surviving are three children, Elizabeth J. Techman and her husband, Joseph A., of Morgantown, PA, Raymond A. Wells, II and his wife, Karen Romano, of Limerick, PA, and Sharon I. Eshelman and her husband, Scott L., of Davidsonville, MD; a sister, Honor Dexter of Setauket, Long Island, NY, and two brothers, Belvin Wells of Upper Black Eddy, PA, and Jack Wells of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah, Trey, Chase, Crew, Sidney, Reed and Wesley; and two step grandsons, Dylan and Brody.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Reese Wells.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing at 10am and funeral service to follow at 11am on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org.
