Kenneth I. Jagel, Jr., 91, of Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA, formerly of Stanton, NJ, passed away January 12, 2019. He and his wife, Mildred (Noble) Jagel, would have observed their 68th wedding anniversary on June 16th of this year.
Born February 2, 1927, in Hollis, NY, he was a son of the late Kenneth I. Jagel, Sr. and Grace (Bloomfield) Jagel, and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War.
Dr. Jagel was a graduate of Fort Schuyler Merchant Marine Academy and received his doctorate in chemical engineering from Columbia University. He was employed by Mobil Oil & Engelhard Minerals and Chemicals Corp.. He was later an independent consultant with Trailtree Associates.
Dr. Jagel served as treasurer and consistory member of Stanton Reformed Church, and as president of the board of Hunterdon County Library. He served on the board at Hunterdon Medical Center and was active with the Hunterdon County Land Trust. He enjoyed caring for his horses and sheep on his farm and traveling the world with his wife. He was an avid reader.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rev. Pamela J. McShane and her husband, Brian, of Springfield, PA; a son, Donald Jagel and his wife, Jessee Nogradi; two siblings, William Jagel and his wife, Jean, of Wethersfield, CT, and Nancy Durr of Brewer, ME; three grandchildren, Laura, Brendan and Kate McShane; and three great grandchildren, Amelia and Daniel McShane, and Alexander Kenneth Remsburg.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 1:30PM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 in the auditorium at Schultz Community Center at Meadowood Senior Living, 3205 Skippack Pike, Worcester, PA 19490. Interment will be private.
