Gladys (Bernhard) Beyer, 94, a life long resident of Worcester, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late John Irwin Beyer who passed away in 1998.

Born April 15, 1918 in Worcester she was the daughter of the late William Roy and Sara (Shearer) Bernhard.

Mrs. Beyer was an active member of Central Schwenkfelder Church for many years and worked as a waitress at Sunny View Farms. She was a member of the Colony Club who met once a month for over 65 years. Mrs. Beyer was a member of the Goshenhoppen Historians, and the Worcester historical Society.

She is survived by her daughter Sara Borr and her husband Richard of Downingtown; her grandchildren Heather Harris, and Derek Race; her great grandchildren Hunter, Sara, Shane, and Emily Harris and Cassidy Race, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, including Joan Fichtner, Maryella Brown, and Samuel Beyer.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son John I. Beyer, II; her granddaughter Lisa Race; and her siblings Evelyn Gundlach and Marian Bernhard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at 11 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Worcester Schwenkfelder Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the John I.
