Robert D. Gilkey, 90, of North Wales, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Wynwood Senior Living. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Sinagoga) Gilkey to whom he was married to for over 66 years and passed in 2010.

Born December 16, 1922 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William P. and Elizabeth (Dunlop) Gilkey.

Mr. Gilkey served in the U.S. Navy during WWII serving in the Pacific Theater. He was employed as a general contractor with F.K. Campion and became owner of the company until he sold the business in the late seventies. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Shiloh Lodge No. 558 F & A. M., a member of the Lu Lu Temple Shrine and the Old York Road Sports Car Club. Mr. Gilkey was an avid outdoorsman and woodworker who had a great appreciation of the arts.

He is survived by his Children; Steven Gilkey and his wife Dorothy of Montgomeryville, Jacqueline Gilkey and her partner Connie of Lansdale, his grandchildren; Heather Craig and her husband Jeff, Stephanie Lee and her husband Christopher, and his great grandchildren; Phoenix Craig, Taryn Craig, and Blake Lee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Skippack, where friends may call for the viewing from 9:45-10:45. There will be a Masonic service at 10:45. In lieu of flowers the family strongly requests contributions to be made in his memory to the Office of Development, Shiners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Fl 33607.
