Carmine Thomas “Tom” Barbieri, Jr. 98, of Harleysville, passed away Wednesday, October 02, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna Marie (Kruemmer) to whom he was married to for over 58 years.
Born April 17, 1915 in Cheltenham, he was the son of the late Carmine Thomas Barbieri and Grace (Ferruzzi) Barbieri. He was a graduate of Cheltenham High School.
Mr. Barbieri was a long-time member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed as a machinist at Leeds & Northrup in North Wales where he worked for 23 years before retiring in 1980. After retiring, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida for the next 20 years. He was an avid golfer and golfed well into his mid-nineties. He loved traveling, particularly cruising, and visited many different parts of the world.
He is survived by his children Carol A. Gedman and her husband Thomas of Harleysville, Robert Barbieri and his wife Terry of Schwenksville; his grandchildren Philip and his wife Michelle, Paul and his companion Courtney, Jennifer and her husband Josh; and his great grandchildren Abby, Dillon, Logan, and MacKenzie.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his eight siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10-11AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Cheltenham. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Crossroads Hospice, 523 Plymouth Rd., Suite 225, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
