Edward Guzzardo

Obituary of Edward Guzzardo

Edward Guzzardo, 61, a long-time resident of Norristown, PA, passed away November 13, 2017 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton, PA. He and his wife, Victoria R. (Gowen) Guzzardo, would have observed their 35th wedding anniversary on December 23rd of this year.

Born July 30, 1956 in Norristown, he was a son of Dolores (McCabe) Guzzardo-Stoops of Warminster, PA and the late Edward G. Guzzardo. He was a 1974 graduate of Methacton High School. He was a chef for over 30 years with Houlihan’s, most recently of Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Ed had a passion for flying. Though he never got a pilot’s license, he still enjoyed reading about many different aspects of flying, from single engine planes to rockets bound for space. He loved sharing this knowledge with his family and friends during one of his other favorite pastimes, camping. He was an avid attendee of the Philadelphia Folk Festival for almost 40 years. Ed also enjoyed kite flying and teaching his family, children, and grandchildren the joys of this hobby. All of this was still second to his love for his Philadelphia sports teams. Ed also loved the local college teams, especially Penn State, celebrating the successes and failures with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Vicki, and his mother, Dolores, he is survived by two daughters, Abbie Freuwoerth and her husband, Gerd, of Vienna, VA, and Keri Borzillo and her husband, Scott, of Norristown; a son, Eddie Guzzardo of Norristown; and three grandchildren, Danica, Kati and Jacob. He is also survived by four siblings, Ken Guzzardo and his wife, Diane, of Limerick, Lorraine Hershberger and her husband, Dennis, of Schwenksville, Tina Marcinek, and her husband, Andy, of West Norriton, and Alan Guzzardo and his wife, Linda, of Audubon, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11AM on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the R. L.
