Robert Martin, 76, of Schwenksville, passed away suddenly Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Phoenixville Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Leibold) Martin to whom he was married for over 46 years.
Born June 24, 1941, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Donald and Laura (Taylor), Martin.
Bob or Poppi, as his grandchildren call him, was an active and long-time member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Bob lived his life and taught his children to live their lives with a full heart, love, and pride. Bob proudly served his country as Second Lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. His children always thought that he was the one that made the lights turn on, and he did as a loyal employee of PECO for 35 years. Bob loved photography, going to the gym, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a man of great honor and pride but most of all he was known for his unwavering kindness.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Keith Martin and his wife, Michelle, of Downingtown, Lynette Hollis and her husband, James, of Churchville, Michelle Charles and her husband, Robert, of Schwenksville; and six grandchildren. He will be missed by all especially his close group of friends who have always been more family than friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 311 2nd St, Schwenksville, PA 19473.
